Writing is a solitary experience, which makes an occasion like the Teen Book Festival such a joy: an opportunity to meet other writers, but also teachers, librarians, others who are interested in books for children and teens. And the teens themselves! They shared stories of how books--sometimes our books--had touched them. The number of happy, friendly, energetic volunteers--adults and students-- was staggering.
